Morning
Coffee in the quiet.
Wake to shuttered light and the smell of the sea. Breakfast on the terrace before the heat, the island still half-asleep.
Afternoon
The pool, and nowhere to be.
Long, slow hours by the water — a swim, a book, lunch in the shade. Then the beach, eight hundred metres down the lane.
Evening
Dinner as it turns gold.
The terrace warms to amber, the barbecue lights, and the table fills. Dinners that drift, unhurried, into the night.
